[1] The college was formerly known as Gansu Provincial People's Public Security School founded in September 1949. It was renamed Gansu Provincial People's Police School after its operation resumed in 1978. In 1980, it was renamed Gansu Provincial People's Police School. [1] According to the official website of the university in September 2025, the college covers an area of nearly 2,000 mu, and the building area of the school is more than 200,000 square meters. It offers 17 majors, has more than 200 full-time teachers and more than 4,000 full-time students.
